Twins! | Baton Rouge Maternity Photographer

Earlier this year I received an e-mail from one of my favorite clients letting me know she was pregnant again – this time with twins! I truly couldn’t have been more excited for her & her family…what a blessing! We met up recently for a maternity session to document this pregnancy. Doesn’t she look amazing? I’m looking forward to photographing these babies (and their big sister!) very soon!!

Hollis & Jacklyn arrived several weeks earlier than expected, and after a surprisingly short stay in the hospital they came to the studio for their debut photo session. They were fabulous little models – better than I ever could have hoped for! We finished in record time, and these two barely made a peep. At every single newborn session I find myself marveling over how amazing each new life is, and of course that was multiplied with two tiny, new people to photograph.

This afternoon we spent some time with my gorgeous nieces, and of course we had to get some photos. Aren’t they precious?

Brody & Lauren {5 weeks} | Baton Rouge Newborn Photography

After much anticipation I finally got to meet Brody & Lauren yesterday. They completely stole my heart and spending time with them brought back so many wonderful memories of when my own babies were infants. They are still a few days shy of their due date, so we were able to get some wonderful sleepy shots even though they’re quite a bit older than the typical newborns I photograph. When we posed them together they seemed so content and peaceful.

I just adore that family shot. Mom & Dad are paying attention to one and the other just has to speak up…a sign of things to come for sure! Thanks for a great session…enjoy!

It’s hard to believe by looking at her, but this stunning mommy-to-be is carrying twins! Both mom and dad are so excited and it was wonderful to witness the love they have for each other and their unborn babies. Thanks for a fun sessions guys. I’m looking forward to meeting your babies soon!!

This shot was all dad’s idea and I just love the way it turned out. It’s always fun to capture the excitement of the daddy-to-be during maternity sessions.

Five | Baton Rouge Child Photographer

This morning I set out to do the impossible…get some photos of my oldest to commemorate his 5th birthday. Most of you have heard me say this at least once, but photographing your own children is tough. Very tough (for me anyway). Not today, though. I won’t pretend our little session was full of bliss, but it wasn’t full of tears & frustration either. We got a bit of a late start so the locations I was hoping to use weren’t available. We improvised and found a fun little spot I’ve had my eye on for a while.

Getting these shots of him made my day week year. Five is a big year for kids. It’s the line between little kid & big kid. It’s filled with important things like kindergarten and loose teeth. Yep it’s a big one, and I think it’s going to be a great one for my big guy!

Of course my little guys were along for the ride so I had to snag one of them all together. This shot was inspired by the fabulous Tiffany of Follow Your Art Photography. She’s done this a few times and as soon as I saw the first one I knew I’d have to give it a whirl with all 3 of mine.

This past weekend I met up with C & C for their 12 month portraits. We met at one of my favorite locations, and even though it was hot & humid we had a great time. I’ve been a little longer than usual getting these posted thanks to a broken monitor calibrator (NOT fun!!), but hopefully it was worth the wait. Thanks for your patience guys. Enjoy!
