Londyn was a dream model for me yesterday…so gorgeous and sleepy. Her mom is the beautiful maternity model I photographed the day before she welcomed her baby girl into the world. It was wonderful witness their anticipation and excitement about meeting her at that session, and it was even more wonderful to see how madly in love they are with her now that she’s here. Sharing a few hours with a new family is one of the biggest joys of my job, and I’m always grateful to be asked to document such a wonderful time in their lives.

Carter {3 weeks} | Baton Rouge Newborn Photographer

I’ve been looking forward to this session ever since I first talked to Carter’s mom. She called me from Florida where they went to adopt this adorable baby boy, and she wanted to get some newborn portraits as soon as they got back with him. Even though I generally recommend photographing newborns before day 10, I had a feeling this was going to be a good session and Carter proved me right this morning. We finished in near-record time, he was still very sleepy and curly, and he barely fussed. He even let me put him on my vintage picnic basket! My mom gave the basket to me years ago and until this week it’s been holding photos and old recipes in my hall closet.

Thank you guys for a fun sessions and for allowing me to capture this wonderful time in your lives. Enjoy!

Remember this cutie? Earlier this week he came by the studio for his 6-month portraits. What a doll! He wasn’t entirely thrilled to be photographed, but we managed to catch some adorable expressions anyway. I won’t tell you what his mommy had to do to get some smiles, but he definitely made her work.

Jake {5 weeks} | Baton Rouge Newborn Photographer

This precious little peanut came into the world 6.5 weeks early, and even thought he’s still over a week away from his original due date he’s perfectly healthy…what a blessing! He may be small, but I know from talking with his mom & grandmother today that he’s already made a huge impact on his whole family. I can see why. Within minutes of meeting him I was smitten – even after he pooped on me twice.

Glowing | Baton Rouge Maternity Photographer

This beautiful mommy to be is already snuggling her sweet baby as I type this! Her maternity session was originally supposed to be today, but in the middle of last week I got a call from her that she would be going in for an induction early Friday. We managed to squeeze in a quick maternity session Thursday morning, and I just love that getting maternity portraits was a priority for her. Our session was filled with smiles, laughter and anticipation, and it really brought back memories of the day before we welcomed my oldest.

Thanks for a fun session! I’m so happy we were able to capture your last day of pregnancy & I’m looking forward to meeting your precious baby soon!

Yesterday this handsome little guy came by the studio for 6-month portraits. Aside from being adorable and charming, he has some of the longest eyelashes I’ve ever seen…beautiful! He put up with my off-key rendition of The Wonder Pets theme song, and even gave me some sympathetic smiles for my efforts.

This past weekend I met up with this gorgeous family downtown for a portrait session before they move across the country. They were so laid back & fun – a wonderful combination for a photo session!
