How soon should I schedule my session?
Please contact me as soon as you know you’d like to book a session so you’ll have the most options for available dates. My schedule usually fills at least 3-4 weeks in advance. If you are interested in a newborn session please contact me before baby is born when possible to ensure availability.
How long do sessions usually last?
Baby & child sessions typically last 1-1.5 hours to give your child time to warm up and allow for breaks, snacks, outfit changes, etc. Sessions are laid back and fun so we can be sure to capture your child’s true personality instead of forced smiles.
Newborn sessions can last up to 3 hours (possibly even longer) to ensure we get a wonderful variety of sleepy, curly images. Newborns often need several breaks for eating & snuggling, and I’m happy to take the extra time needed to get the best images possible.
Where will our session take place?
Depending on the type of session and what you’re looking for in your final images, your session may take place at my studio or one of many outdoor locations in the Baton Rouge area. Newborn sessions take place in my Baton Rouge studio.
What should we wear?
Clothing is one of the most important aspects in determining the look & style of your final images. Everyone should be comfortable and wear clothing that is true to their own style. If multiple people are being photographed, aim for coordinating - not matching. The outfits should make sense for the location we choose and not be overly distracting. Once you officially schedule your session I will send over some helpful information on planning clothing and will gladly offer suggestions based on the location we choose.
Do you take family portraits?
Yes! I love capturing relationships and candid, real moments between family members. Baby & child portrait sessions can be a wonderful time for a few fun family portraits, and often including parents & siblings can help children be more relaxed and natural in front of the camera. Please view the “together” gallery on my website for samples of my family portrait style.

Do you photograph events?
No. I do not photograph weddings, birthday parties, reunions, etc.
