Phew!

My poor, neglected blog. I swore I wouldn’t let it happen, but the fall rush, soccer games, football season, homework, doctor appointments, and illness have caught up with me. While my blog may not show it, I’ve been busy with sessions, proofing, designing, placing & delivering orders…all the things that go into getting your final portraits to you in time for the holidays. Here’s a little peek at what I’ve been up to.

After having a few sessions with clients who wanted to keep their images a secret for Christmas gifts, I met up with these cute kiddos for a super-quick (and I do mean super-quick!) session. Thanks for waiting so patiently for your sneak peek!

While finishing up a slideshow I came across a new favorite image. Something about this one make me smile every time I see it.

This past weekend Lilia came for her 12 month session. Wow time flies! We got so many adorable shots at her session. Here’s one for now:

Some other fun things have been happening as well. I am so excited to be part of the 2010 Wings & Wonders Retreat. I am also thrilled to be making the move to a studio in downtown Baton Rouge…more about that later.

Don’t forget the deadline for ordering holiday cards is quickly approaching! The last day to order cards with guaranteed delivery in time for Christmas is November 30th. You can order cards from any session this year, and I have lots of gorgeous designs to choose from.

And finally, just in time for the holidays, all fine art canvases will be on sale now through November 25th! Canvases are client-favorites and I would love for every single client to have at least one hanging on their wall. If you’ve had a session with me this year and want to purchase a fine art canvas for yourself or as a gift, now is the time! The best part is, even if you haven’t had your session yet, you can pre-purchase a canvas at the discounted price! How’s that for holiday spirit?

Planning for your session: what to wear | Baton Rouge Photographer

One of the most common questions I get asked is “what should we wear for our portraits?”. Now that holiday sessions and family portraits are right around the corner for a lot of you, I thought I’d offer some suggestions and examples that may help alleviate a little stress as you plan for your session. The first rule of thumb is to choose outfits that coordinate but don’t match exactly. Layers and rich textures photograph beautifully and help give your pictures depth and interest. Choose looks that suit each person’s style and personality rather than having everyone wear the same white shirt and jeans. While it can be a little overwhelming to put together outfits for multiple people, it is well-worth the effort. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Yes, it’s still August, but it’s already time to start thinking about holiday cards. Take advantage of the holiday mini-session offer to get some great pictures and take care of your holiday cards at the same time. I will have a fun selection of cards – created by some awesome designers – to choose from & they can be customized to meet your needs.

If you have had a session with me already this year of course you are welcome to order cards using photos from that session or schedule another for some updated pictures to show off. Holiday cards are also available for purchase if you prefer to schedule a full session.
