She arrived a few weeks early & spent some time in the NICU after her birth, so she is quite a bit older than the typical newborns I photograph. To be honest I wasn’t really sure what types of images she would let me get. Older babies (yes, 5 weeks is considered older in the world of newborn portraits) aren’t usually as “curly” and they’re certainly not used to being moved & posed while they’re trying to nap. After fighting sleep for a few minutes she drifted off and slept the entire 2 hours I posed & photographed her. She even gave me some smiles, which I always adore.

At two weeks she’s a bit older than most newborns I photograph (I know that must sound crazy!), but she did great! And check out her handsome big brothers! Admittedly I was a little nervous about getting a good sibling shot, because my own boys are the same age as her big brothers and I know how difficult it can be to photograph them. These guys made my job easy, though, and this is one of my new favorite sibling photos of all time.
