I’ve known this stunning mom-to-be for years & I was thrilled when she contacted me about having portraits taken before her baby boy arrives next month. I just adore maternity sessions. They’re always filled the excitement & anticipation of bringing a new life into the world and meeting baby for the first time. What’s not to love about that?

With summer just around the corner I’ve found myself busier than ever with sessions, orders, planning our vacation, and the other wonderful tasks of being a wife, mom, & business owner. I’m also working on some fun new projects for Keri Lynn Photography and have been sticking to my New Year’s resolution to stop working for the day at a reasonable time rather than editing into the wee hours of the morning. Thus I’m behind on blogging. Again.

Here’s a little peek at a couple of recent sessions.

This mom-to-be just glowed with the joy of pregnancy, and we had so much fun chatting & laughing our way through her session. I’m looking forward to meeting your sweet baby girl very soon!

Fisher was so fun to photograph! At six months his personality just shines, and he kept me laughing throughout the whole session.

This beautiful couple is expecting their first baby soon and I was thrilled to take maternity portraits for them. They were so natural and relaxed in front of the camera, making it easy for me to truly capture their love and anticipation for their baby.

I love how this shot representing mom’s Brazilian heritage and dad’s years playing soccer came together:

Sunday evening I had the honor of meeting this beautiful family to photograph them before the birth of their 3rd little girl. Unfortunately their sweet baby has been diagnosed with anencephaly and is not expected to survive. I’ve been trying to think of what I can write that will even begin to convey the strength & grace they have as they face such an unimaginable situation, but the words aren’t coming to me so I will leave you with photos and a request to please keep them in your prayers.

Last Monday was one of those days where you look at the calendar and wonder how in the world you’re going to survive the week. You’ve all been there I’m sure – where the only thing you can do is take a deep breath and take it one day at a time. Along with dentist appointments, soccer activities, my husband’s crazy work schedule, and the usual hustle & bustle of life with 3 kids, 2 dogs and a business, I ended my week with LASIK eye surgery. I survived it all, and even managed to have lots of fun in the process! Here’s a look at some of the beautiful clients from last week.

Meet Grant, a new babyplanner who came in for his 3-month session. I’m so very excited to watch this little guy grow over the next year!

Catching up

2010 has been busy so far, and as a result I’ve had to neglect my poor blog a bit to stay on top of proof galleries, placing orders, bookkeeping, and a lot of other less-than-exciting tasks that go along with running a business. If only shooting sessions and sharing sneak peeks on the blog paid the bills! Despite the ever-growing to-do list and hours at the computer, I love it and am so incredibly grateful for all of my wonderful clients who allow me to capture some of their most precious memories.

Here’s a quick scheduling update for Spring:

March – booked

April – 1 session availability

May – 2 newborn openings, 4 child/family openings

If you’re thinking of scheduling a spring session contact me now because spots usually fill pretty quickly. If you’re expecting a baby in the next few months (or know someone who is and would be interested in a session), call or e-mail me right away for maternity &/or newborn portraits – it’s never to early to get you on the schedule! And remember, if you’ve contacted me about a session date but haven’t officially booked, your date is not reserved and may be booked by another client.

This beautiful mommy to be is already snuggling her sweet baby as I type this! Her maternity session was originally supposed to be today, but in the middle of last week I got a call from her that she would be going in for an induction early Friday. We managed to squeeze in a quick maternity session Thursday morning, and I just love that getting maternity portraits was a priority for her. Our session was filled with smiles, laughter and anticipation, and it really brought back memories of the day before we welcomed my oldest.

Thanks for a fun session! I’m so happy we were able to capture your last day of pregnancy & I’m looking forward to meeting your precious baby soon!
