This weekend I had several gorgeous girls come by for portraits. First was Nora. You probably won’t recognize her from her newborn session – she’s grown so much in the last 3 months!

I also had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful sisters. We started in the studio, but since it was such a gorgeous morning we decided to venture outside for some photos as well.

Maybe as a mom to 3 boys I’m a little partial, but there’s something so special about the bond between brothers. It was such a treat to see these adorable boys interact during their session. Big brother was so attentive to his baby brother, and baby brother was quite interested in everything big brother did. It truly reminded me of when my own kids were younger, and I just know these guys are going to have so much fun as they grow up together.

This beautiful baby girl is this cutie’s cousin, and she came all the way from north Louisiana for her debut photo session. At two weeks she’s a bit older than most newborns I photograph (I know that must sound crazy!), but she did great! And check out her handsome big brothers! Admittedly I was a little nervous about getting a good sibling shot, because my own boys are the same age as her big brothers and I know how difficult it can be to photograph them. These guys made my job easy, though, and this is one of my new favorite sibling photos of all time.

This morning I photographed these gorgeous girls at their lovely home in Baton Rouge. After a long stretch of studio sessions, it was wonderful to get outside and shoot again, and their property was just perfect for outdoor portraits. These two girls were so kind and cooperative during our session – they made my job incredibly easy and fun.

Last Monday was one of those days where you look at the calendar and wonder how in the world you’re going to survive the week. You’ve all been there I’m sure – where the only thing you can do is take a deep breath and take it one day at a time. Along with dentist appointments, soccer activities, my husband’s crazy work schedule, and the usual hustle & bustle of life with 3 kids, 2 dogs and a business, I ended my week with LASIK eye surgery. I survived it all, and even managed to have lots of fun in the process! Here’s a look at some of the beautiful clients from last week.

Meet Grant, a new babyplanner who came in for his 3-month session. I’m so very excited to watch this little guy grow over the next year!

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Yes, I was a mean mommy and dragged them to the studio after church and the egg hunt. It’s been ages since I’ve photographed my own sweet kiddos and they were way too distracted to get them to cooperate outside. It was well-worth the milkshake bribes!

Catching up

2010 has been busy so far, and as a result I’ve had to neglect my poor blog a bit to stay on top of proof galleries, placing orders, bookkeeping, and a lot of other less-than-exciting tasks that go along with running a business. If only shooting sessions and sharing sneak peeks on the blog paid the bills! Despite the ever-growing to-do list and hours at the computer, I love it and am so incredibly grateful for all of my wonderful clients who allow me to capture some of their most precious memories.

Here’s a quick scheduling update for Spring:

March – booked

April – 1 session availability

May – 2 newborn openings, 4 child/family openings

If you’re thinking of scheduling a spring session contact me now because spots usually fill pretty quickly. If you’re expecting a baby in the next few months (or know someone who is and would be interested in a session), call or e-mail me right away for maternity &/or newborn portraits – it’s never to early to get you on the schedule! And remember, if you’ve contacted me about a session date but haven’t officially booked, your date is not reserved and may be booked by another client.

Ella & Ben | Baton Rouge Baby & Children’s Photographer

Earlier this week these 2 cuties came by the studio for a photo session. Ella and Ben just adore each other, and Ella was a pro at eliciting smiles from her baby brother. Admittedly, I always get a little nervous when photographing the 2-4 age range in studio, but Ella made my job so easy. We sang, talked about butterflies & princesses, and even danced a little. Ben was also a fantastic model, with one of the biggest, most infectious smiles I’ve ever seen.
