This weekend I had several gorgeous baby girls come by for portraits. First was Nora. You probably won’t recognize her from her newborn session – she’s grown so much in the last 3 months!

I also had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful sisters. We started in the studio, but since it was such a gorgeous morning we decided to venture outside for some photos as well.

Carter has grown so much since his newborn session…I barely recognized him when he came in for his six-month portraits earlier this week. He wasn’t sure about having portraits taken, but thanks to a fun game of peek-a-boo with his mommy we captured some great expressions.

Amaya {5 weeks} | Baton Rouge Baby Photographer

Yesterday I met the beautiful Amaya and her parents at the studio for her first photo session. Amaya is so stunning I could have stared at her all day, but I didn’t because I knew her mom & dad were excited to get some photos of her! At five weeks Amaya has passed the age we typically photograph new babies, and sure enough she wasn’t very interested in sleeping or posing. Since five weeks is still a bit young to expect consistent eye-contact & smiles, most baby photographers know it’s it’s all about patience & waiting for just the right moment to click the shutter to get a sweet expression and those pretty eyes. Patience certainly paid off yesterday, because we got some lovely images of this gorgeous baby girl.

Of course I was determined to get at least one sleeping portrait, and that’s exactly what Amaya gave me – one frame of her asleep. Check out those stunning lashes!

Emmi – another of my favorite babyplanners – turned one recently and as luck would have it she started walking the day of her session! It was HOT the evening we met for her portraits, but she was a trooper. By the end storm clouds were threatening, but we managed to squeeze in the last few shots just before the rain started.

Baby Grant was so very good for his debut photo session Saturday. I couldn’t get enough of his precious rolls and sweet lips. I could have snuggled him all day!

Oh how I love watching little ones grow! Grant came by for his six-month portraits over the weekend and I was just amazed at how much he’s changed since his 3-month session. He is so full of personality and smiles – we had lots of fun!

Harper {5 weeks} | Baton Rouge Newborn Photographer

What a dream Harper was at her session earlier this week! She arrived a few weeks early & spent some time in the NICU after her birth, so she is quite a bit older than the typical newborns I photograph. To be honest I wasn’t really sure what types of images she would let me get. Older babies (yes, 5 weeks is considered older in the world of newborn portraits) aren’t usually as “curly” and they’re certainly not used to being moved & posed while they’re trying to nap. After fighting sleep for a few minutes she drifted off and slept the entire 2 hours I posed & photographed her. She even gave me some smiles, which I always adore.

Maybe as a mom to 3 boys I’m a little partial, but there’s something so special about the bond between brothers. It was such a treat to see these adorable boys interact during their session. Big brother was so attentive to his baby brother, and baby brother was quite interested in everything big brother did. It truly reminded me of when my own kids were younger, and I just know these guys are going to have so much fun as they grow up together.
