One of the most common questions I get asked is “what should we wear for our portraits?”. Now that holiday sessions and family portraits are right around the corner for a lot of you, I thought I’d offer some suggestions and examples that may help alleviate a little stress as you plan for your session. The first rule of thumb is to choose outfits that coordinate but don’t match exactly. Layers and rich textures photograph beautifully and help give your pictures depth and interest. Choose looks that suit each person’s style and personality rather than having everyone wear the same white shirt and jeans. While it can be a little overwhelming to put together outfits for multiple people, it is well-worth the effort. Here are some ideas to get you started:
