It’s hard to believe Cy is 6-months already! It seems like just yesterday I was photographing him as a newborn! He was full of smiles and personality during his session yesterday – so much fun!

Londyn was a dream model for me yesterday…so gorgeous and sleepy. Her mom is the beautiful maternity model I photographed the day before she welcomed her baby girl into the world. It was wonderful witness their anticipation and excitement about meeting her at that session, and it was even more wonderful to see how madly in love they are with her now that she’s here. Sharing a few hours with a new family is one of the biggest joys of my job, and I’m always grateful to be asked to document such a wonderful time in their lives.

I’ve been looking forward to this session ever since I first talked to Carter’s mom. She called me from Florida where they went to adopt this adorable baby boy, and she wanted to get some newborn portraits as soon as they got back with him. Even though I generally recommend photographing newborns before day 10, I had a feeling this was going to be a good session and Carter proved me right this morning. We finished in near-record time, he was still very sleepy and curly, and he barely fussed. He even let me put him on my vintage picnic basket! My mom gave the basket to me years ago and until this week it’s been holding photos and old recipes in my hall closet.

Remember this cutie? Earlier this week he came by the studio for his 6-month portraits. What a doll! He wasn’t entirely thrilled to be photographed, but we managed to catch some adorable expressions anyway. I won’t tell you what his mommy had to do to get some smiles, but he definitely made her work.
